Fact or Fiction -- there's still a lot of misinformation being passed around about DSD

Fact or Fiction -- there's still a lot of misinformation being passed around about DSD

I watch a lot of youtube. The other day a video came up where a audiophile vlogger (name withheld) put together an 18 minute video about DSD vs PCM and what the differences are. He was 50/50 on getting the information right... but still, he spoke with authority when he was wrong. Why is this still happening?

Okay, this fellow was a vinyl guy. I watched a few of his other videos and they were interesting, more on target. Still, it's amazing to me that so many "authorities" on the subject of audio seem to know so little about how things are produced. I plan to offer more complete answers and truths to the subject. The good news is he mentions a few of the labels producing DSD, he seemed to know about the Pyramix, but the equipment he used for evaluation was not good. I'll explain later.

In any case, a lot of the misinformation comes from people spreading "hearsay" and not really studying the facts or asking experts. The audio engineering side of this isn't easy to understand and is hard to digest without being in a professional studio where you experience where the differences take place. So, let's not be too hard on this guy when you see his video. I don't want to start a war... only bring truths to the subject.

At least he tried and DSD is still being talked about. If you're interested to see the video, send me an email. I'll send you the links. support@dsd-guide.com
put "LINK" in the subject so I can find your request more easily.

Let's keep talking about DSD! Right or wrong, keep talking about it.

Thank you,
