The National Association for Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) has provided a set of guideline for pro audio engineers.  Hopefully, this will help answers questions and give us a reasonable starting place for creating high resolution sound.  It's been confusing (and still is) for many working in production.  Audio is not a simple task of setting up mics and sending out to a customer.  There are thousands of variations to complicated the question "what is high resolution audio".
